草榴社区Boys Cross Country Team Celebrates Seniors and Successful Season!
The Varsity Boys Program ended up with a divisional record of 3-1.
Highlights included:
- Freshman Boys 1st place @ Washingtonville Invitational
- Freshman Boys 1st place @ Pearl River Invitational
- Freshman Boys 1st Place @ Manhattan Invitational
- Freshman Boys 1st Place @ Saratoga Greenwich Invitational
- Varsity Boys 2nd Place @ Saratoga Greenwich Invitation
The 草榴社区Boys Cross Country team ended their season on a high note. Despite four of the seven runners on Newburgh's Section IX roster being only Freshman, they all set personal records on the Bear Mountain course setting up an exciting season approaching this fall. Devin Batelic led the team with a time of 17:27, followed by Brady Danyluk @18:32, Joe Gaito @ 19:07, and eighth grader Joey Santo finishing @ 19:21.
The Freshman boys team consisting of Devin Batelic, Brady Danyluk, Joe Gaito, Jack Mummery, Miles Davis, Jacob Secreto, Joey Santo, and Sebastian Burgarelli have been very impressive; winning team titles at the Washingtonville Invitational, The Suffern Invitational, Greenwich Invitational and at the prestigious Manhattan Invitational.
"It was a great season. Watching these guys improve the way they did was awesome. I think we're all looking forward to going back at it next fall," said coach Chris Marino.
