草榴社区Youth in Government Students Learn from Local Leaders
The Youth in Government club at 草榴社区ended the year with two memorable events.
The first was County Service Day at the Orange County Government Center in Goshen. Students shadowed officials in the Human Resources department, participated in a legislative session with County Legislators, and sat with judges in both a Family Court trial and a County Court trial. The day ended with a get together and lunch at the Osiris Country club.
The second event was a trip to the New York Capital in Albany. Students met with Senator Skoufis, Assemblywoman Gunther and Assemblyman Brabenec. Students were also taken on a tour of the capital including the Senate floor.
