Heritage Middle School Artists Study and Analyze Egyptian Art
Students in Ms. McCarthy's class at Heritage Middle School studied Egyptian Art and analyzed the content. Most of the artwork in the tombs was about the lives of the Pharaohs. Students wrote journal entries about their own life experiences and core memories. They created collages of these memories in the shape of Egyptian Ankh Symbols and painted them gold. Some students added jewels to represent importance. This is just one of many thematic interdisciplinary projects we do at Heritage that incorporate Social Emotional Learning as well.
